--Jaunt: a short, pleasurable, adventurous excursion to a (relatively) far away place, that warrants raised eyebrows of approval, fascination and something resembling [misplaced] awe from those who hear of the said journey. FACT: Oft times the BA-level of the Jaunter is vastly increased by time spent jaunting.
All right.
This is my first official blog post of my first official blog. To begin, I really want to make clear to all reading this -- thank you! I appreciate that you have even a remote interest in my thoughts and ramblings. That's just altogether far too flattering, since I am fairly certain that this blog will not turn out to be anything breathtakingly brilliant. In fact, all I really want from this is a way to:
1. Chronicle my feelings and personal developments before, during and after my trip.
2. Offer an option for people who I love, but may not be able to talk too often, a window into my daily comings and goings.
3. Be something that I can keep with me in the future to reminisce about my growth and development from non-worldly chica americana into a full blown, lovely, traveled senorita!
So... once again, thank you for tuning in.
As of now, I am in the final planning and packing stages for the trip. Regrettably, my accent is still embarrassingly terrible to the point that my voice shakes whenever "Hablas español?" is uttered to me and I can not conjugate a verb to save my life. I am more nervous than I have been in quite some time. Hopefully, the over the next few weeks I will be able to buck up some courage, finish my preparations and say the "see you laters!"that will undoubtedly break my heart with grace, composure and assuredness.
So many people have been very helpful and encouraging and I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend the last week few weeks with those I Love Most in the World and seeing my little bro off to his freshman year at CNU (Go Caps!) I also was able to go to Ahseville and Black Mountain thanks to JT and on an awesome road trip with the best friend and see Falling Water (seriously one of my favourite things I have ever seen) and Pennsylvania is beautiful in general.
Everything seems to be moving very quickly and in a way that I can't control. It will be a wonderful exercise in letting go for me...not being able to micro-manage every moment.
I will post my Barca address and such when I receive it (sometime toward the end of the week), but until that. Stay well and let me know if you need anything at all.
Nothing but Love,
Jza
